Some of our half term activity(s)!!!

Half term...... yes well it was a little bit busy/crazy/hectic. I think we worked 24/7.In all we printed, painted, cut out, constructed, tissued, taped, stenciled, stuck on, wrapped, trapped, assembled and achieved.
We made a giant autumnal tree, guitars, drums and shakers, a wallhanging promoting recycling and respect for the environment, window hangings, bracelets and necklaces and fabric printed pieces. It was great fun, especially the pumpkin masks and batwings on the friday afternoon.
Then to finish the week we went off to Beeston to make a welldressing at an event celebrating the town's new Fairtrade status.
Thank you to everyone, mums, dads, boys, girls, babies, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles grandmas friends and neighbours who came and took part in the various activities and also a big thank you to the extended schools network.

The calm before........

Batik and Monoprinting workshop

Some lovely batik work
and.......

......attractive monoprints.

We applied for some funding from the Learning Revoloution and "Open Doors" to run two taster workshops in October. We ran one of the sessions at Quad which was well attended. We worked with a group of adults, some people we had worked with before but not seen for a while so it was a very sociable event.
Thank you to everyone who came at short notice we had a really good time!!!

Earth, Air, Fire and Water Tepees at Redhills School

A few weeks ago we went to work  at Redhills School in Ockbrook. With lots of help from 60 pupils from Year 5 we made four giant tepees. We used withy circles wrapped in different materials to decorate each structure, the finished tepees were  positioned outside in an area next to the playground.
