We had lots of fun with families today at Alvaston Library. We created willow stars decorated with fancy wools and shiny beads.
We had a lovely morning working with the Dementia group at Dovedale Hospital.
They created some fabulous little books painted with watercolour patterns. There was a lot of laughing and chatting and by the end of the morning they had all managed to fold their decorated paper into a little book. They were all amazed.
It was a delight to work with them, a very jolly group.
Canvas were holding a Christmas Celebration for their Future Creatives group of young people.
They were a lively bunch who loved making the baubles with card, string, and foil and decorated with felt pens. They looked stunning.
The activity was all part of a fun day of workshops and a performance of Christmas Carol at the theatre.
Spiral Artists Jenny and Zoe had a fun time with the young people.
We delivered a HAF Holiday Club during the summer holidays in August for 2 weeks. We were based in the lovely Loudon Lodge Building on the Community Garden.
We had a busy 2 weeks creating lots and lots of great art together, with children from all over Derby City.
It was lovely to see them all making friends and enjoying the fresh air and exciting art activities.

This year we worked with Kirk Hallam Academy and Redhill Primary in Ockbrook, to create the WTF Well Dressings, this was on the theme of the Baton of Hope tour which takes place in September around Derby.
It was a very hot week and the well dressings were difficult to keep damp but we got there in the end and they made a great display at the West Hallam Village Fair in July.

We delivered a lovely project called Creative Cafe at Loudon Lodge Apr-June 2025.
We looked at 6 different artists and each week we created work reflecting that artists style or focus.
We studied Frida Kahlo, Georgia O'Keefe, Van Gogh, Matisse, Monet & Yayoi Kusama. What a great time we had learning about these artists and the work was great too!
