Out of Africa in Repton

We spent an amazing 2 days at Repton Primary School creating work for their Africa project. We worked with Year 3 and Year 4 children to create batik hangings and African masks.

They waxed the fabric, painted on the inks and ironed out the wax. Their teacher Mrs Walters was busy sewing all the pieces together for their Arts Week Assembly.
The end of the week finished with a wonderful assembly showcasing all the work.

Well done!! We loved the African dancing and singing.

Patch Tastic Challenge

We were invited to take part in the Patchwork Challenge at the Rycote Centre along with other creative ladies.

We were in two teams to make a quilt which would be donated to a charity.
We had great fun, choosing colours and fabrics and we quickly got on with the task.
A big thank you to Jeni and Philippa for their help.

Five Gold Rings

We worked with the lovely GoldsQUAD ladies to create woven hoops.
There was fast and furious hoop spinning and weaving and later they were turned into fabric bowls.

A Walk in the Park

In April we took part in the 'Walk In Her Shoes' charity walk from Alvaston Park to Derby City Centre along the River Derwent.

It was a pleasant walk which ended in the Coop Cafe with a celebration of tea and lovely cake.
And a photo of the walkers tired feet and shoe bunting.
