The ladies at Goldsquad created some lovely fabric covered clay pots, using a variety of recycled fabrics. We created colour palettes of fabric and they got very sticky with glue. Here a few images.
We created an archway covered in flowers and messages for International Women's Day in March to inspire women in their lives. We worked alongside the Coop Members to also promote their campaign to help those women and girls who have to walk miles to collect fresh water in developing countries. The event continued on 26 March where we met at Alvaston Park and walked along the track into town to support the campaign.

We worked with the young mums group at Quad to create 3D letters for their children's room. We used card, tape and tissue paper. Here are some images of work in progress.
We spent 5 days working with all the key-stage 2 classes at St James Juniors school to create a giant globe to celebrate International Food Week. We also found out that there are around 27 different countries represented in the school, wow!! We learnt about the continents, countries and ocean, we had a large world map to consult and we had two small toy globes to check we had all the countries in the correct place. Here are some of the globe-making stages.
We were pleased to go and work again with the Early Years students at Derby University in February. This time we used natural materials and fabrics to create tepees that children could make together and then use as a den. We left trails of foliage from the car park all the way up to the room and down the drive where the tepees have been installed at the front of the campus.
