Stencilling at the Fire Station
We had another great evening being creative with carers, stencilling with fabric paints.
The community room is a lovely space and is very comfortable and cosy.
Have a look at the pieces we created.

Carers Break No.3
Japanese Stab Stitching on Simple Handmade Books
We had a very industrious workshop this afternoon with a nice group of creative people.
We brought lots of different types of papers - wrapping paper, wallpaper, decorative serviettes, coloured paper, handmade paper, and marbled paper. We demonstrated how to bind the papers together using a technique called "Japanese stab stitch" which gives a good strong finish. Our next Carers Break workshops are Tuesday 28th August at Nottingham Rd Fire Station, Chaddesden 6-9pm Stencilling Thursday 13th September - Heart of Park building, Arboretum Park, Normanton 12- 3pm Collage If you would like to come along please contact us for further information.
We also drank tea and had a good chat about Derby's cinema's and dance halls of yesteryear.

Batik at the Station
Our 2nd Carers Break workshop was held in the community room at Chaddesden Fire Station.
This time we were painting with hot wax and beautiful batik inks.
It is a lovely space to work with a full view of the engines!!
We had fun trying to close the automatically opening doors when we left though!!
