Flying High - Tree House Project

 We worked with families during the summer holidays to create flying artwork each week. Windsocks, flapping birds, kites and windmills.

Retro Feva 80s Pop Show

This was a fabulous project to work on with Bex from Bexstar Entertainments. An 80s Pop Show and we were asked to make the props with drop in workshops, YMCA students in Derby and Ilkeston. We created giant canvas backgrounds inspired by Keith Haring dancing figures and a giant boombox. 

Jubilee Well Dressing 2022

Goodness the Jubilee celebrations are lasting a long time. We held our annual Well Dressing event on Derby Arboretum on Sunday 26 June, with the theme of the Platinum Jubilee. 

Beautiful designs created by Spiral Artists, Jenny and Kate, a lovely blessing and welcome from Rev Simon Cartwright, violin playing and tea and cake, who could ask for more.

Jubilee Celebration 2022

 Even though it was a bit rainy, we had a splendid Platinum Jubilee on Derby Arboretum. The Matt Ratcliffe Trio Jazz band, the Muha Eastern European Band and the Rosehill School Choir performed. Crown Derby and Winters Photographers were exhibiting too.

We made royal crowns, there was refreshments and everyone had a lovely time.

Jubilee Crown Making

It was straight into making a giant jubilee crown and royal woven cloak with children from Rosehill Infants, St James Infants, students from Derby College and adult volunteers. We had a very busy 2 weeks. But it was great fun!!
