We worked with several groups in Erewash to create lanterns for the Shine Bright Night Festival at the museum:
Sawley Youth Club, 1st Long Eaton Brownies, Long Eaton Self Help Group, Flamsteed Day Care and Ilkeston YMCA. The lanterns looked stunning, well done everyone.

During February as well as creating puppets for International Women's Day we also created Gelli printing and Tin Can Art.

We have had a very busy time with the Nature Spaces Project funded by Derbyshire Health and Inequalities Partnership. DHIP. Session have been running on a regular basis from Grove Lodge in the Derby Arboretum. Here are a few of the artforms we have been creating in January 2024.
Calendars, Tissue Lanterns, Feather Ink Books, and Seeded Handmade Paper.
We have worked with a great group of people over these 4 months to make some wonderful creative work. This is a wellbeing group who like to sit and create together in the beautiful surroundings of the Derby Arboretum. If you are interested in joining us, please email spiral_arts@hotmail.co.uk
Here are some of the wonderful pieces created, sewing with plastic, cyanotypes, floral sculpture, textured picture frames, plaster-casts, plate painting, scrap weaving, felt making and christmas decorations.

We are getting ready for a Shine Bright Night Lantern Event in February next year. We have already made lanterns with the YMCA Ilkeston group and we will work with many more groups in the next couple of months, creating wonderful lanterns for the event.
