Mini Well Dressings for the International Summer School

We spent the afternoon working at Quad with around 60 chinese students who are visiting University of Derby, they were given a talk and slideshow of traditional Derbyshire Well Dressings and they were able to create their own to take away. 

Tepees @ Derby Univeristy

We worked with 3 groups of Early Years Students and a group of students visiting from Athens over 3 days.
We created 4 tepees using bamboo,willow, recycled plastics and fabrics.The tepees are sited at the top of the driveway to the university.
It was very enjoyable to work with all the students.

WW1 Green Spaces Banner @ Derby Cathedral

We were pleased to display our WW1 banner at Derby Cathedral to coincide with the Poppies at the Silk Mill and as part of Derby Remembers Events around the city.

WW1 Green Spaces Banner @ Marble Hall

We were privileged to have our WW1 banner displayed at the Marble Hall on Nightingale Road from February to April.
It is a stunning building, beautiful stained glass window and art deco staircase.

Textile Tepees @ Derby University

We created textile tepees with Early Year's Students at Derby University over a few days.
The tepees are on display on the lawn at the front of the university.

Derby Green Spaces in WW1 Launch Party

We were commissioned by History Professor Paul Elliott, from the University of Derby to partner with him on a research project of how Derby Parks and green spaces were used during World War One. 
We worked with a team of researchers to gather the information which we used to create a large textile banner and information banners. We worked with members of a local refugee group, the GoldsQUAD group and held drop in sessions over the summer to design and sew the textile banner.
The banner was exhibited in the Orangery in Derby Arboretum as part of the 'Lark in the Park' celebrations.
The exhibition was opened by Councillor Jangir Khan, and speeches were given by Professor Paul, history student Stuart Bagley and Jenny and Maureen from Spiral Arts.
The banners were exhibited for 2 weeks in the Orangery. We hope to have further displays of the banners in the next few months.

WW1 Sewing @ Grove Lodge

We are working with the University of Derby History Dept and some local researchers on a project called Derby Green Spaces during World War One. We are looking for information about how the parks and green spaces were used during the war and the activities that took place.
The project involves creating a textile banner with local groups.

University Tepees with Early Years Students

Back again to work with the Early Years Students at Derby University, it was a very hot day, so they did well to get the tepees finished. Well done.

University Tepees

We were pleased to go and work again with the Early Years students at Derby University in February.

This time we used natural materials and fabrics to create tepees that children could make together and then use as a den.

We left trails of foliage from the car park all the way up to the room and down the drive where the tepees have been installed at the front of the campus.

Uni Weavings

It was a tepee frenzy at Derby University, we worked with students from the Childhood Studies course to create 4 tepees in various themed colours.
We had 'Under the Sea', 'Fairytale Castle', 'Winter Sparkle' and 'Autumn Leaves'.
They are sited around the university grounds.
