Nature Spaces - Green Social Prescribing

Nature Spaces was a green social prescribing project we delivered during November and December 2022 as part of a pilot project funded by Greenspring. 

We invited the local social prescribing link workers to refer people who would benefit from some arts and crafts activity in the surroundings of the beautiful Derby Arboretum Park. 

We also opened it up to other organisations to advertise it to their wellbeing groups such as Quad, Derby Women's Centre, Derbyshire Carers, Staywell and Derbyshire Mind as well as contacting people who had come to previous wellbeing sessions with Spiral Arts.

We had a good group of people attending each session and we had some laughs, chatter and creativity in the winter months.

We are pleased to say that we have received another grant to continue the sessions during 2023.

GoldsQUAD session - Sept & Oct

We have spent 4 sessions with the GoldsQUAD group making pinatas, hula hoop bowls, handmade paper and Japanese Stab stitch notebooks.
We will be back in the new year for more sessions.

Arts and Crafts with GoldsQUAD

We have had a busy few months with the GoldsQUAD group at QUAD, paper-making, marbling, bookmaking, dreamcatchers and knitting.

Carers Breaks

We have started our Carer's Breaks workshops at the Arboretum Park.
We had a nice afternoon, chatting and making paper.
We are looking forward to our next workshop tomorrow - 
Batik painting at Chaddesden Fire Station Community Room.

Creative House Workshops

The next Creative House workshop is

THURSDAY 23 FEB 1pm-3pm - MOSAIC MIRRORS

Come along and create a mirror fit to seen in!
Paint, print, collage onto a deep wooden frame mirror.
Embellish with buttons, shells, glass nuggets and other 'treasures'.

£10 per person includes, all materials, techniques, chat and refreshments.
