We marched through Derby for International Women's Day and carried our Butterfly Banner, it was created at women's workshops and portrays powerful images of women.
At the event in the Museum of Making, we decorated out stall with inspiring bunting created by students from Lexis Group at Derby College. We worked with adults and children to create empowering rosettes, using ribbon, felt and fabric.

We led a wonderful procession through Derby City Centre with the Butterfly Banner we had created over the last 2 months. The women also carried placards that we had created a few years ago. It was a well attended event for the city and for women.
We delivered a 2 month project to work with women and girls on a large banner for INternational Women's Day Event in Derby. We worked with Derby College students, young women with learning disabilities, women at drop in sessions at Derby Women's Centre and women at a wellbeing group.
The women were asked for their experiences of women's health in Derby and they all completed a questionnaire which will be used to improve health services in Derby.
The project was funded by the NHS Women's Health Hub Grant.
We delivered a series of workshops to create 2 giant puppets and many mini puppets of inspiring women and girls for the procession through Derby City Centre for International Women's Day on 9 March.
We ran workshops at Grove Lodge in the Derby Arboretum, at the Insomnia Cafe in the Coop Store in Derby and during our Nature Spaces workshops. It was a huge feat to get it all finished. But well worth it.

Wow what a busy month we had creating two giant puppets for International Women's Day 2022. We delivered lots of workshops at the Derby Women's Centre and Derby Arboretum with groups and at drop-in sessions.
The procession was simply brilliant, starting from the women's centre, down to The Spot at the start of St Peter's Street in Derby all the way to the old library on the Wardwick. What a great experience.
