Our Freedom - Post War Prefab

We were delighted to work on the 'OUR FREEDOM' Project at Ilkeston Library during Sept and October 2025.

We worked with adults, families and at Flamsteed Day Care to create a fabulous post war prefab miniature model. There was plenty of research from the librarians, chatting to Ilkeston folk and looking at old photos. We are extremely pleased with the end result which is now on permanent display at Ilkeston Library.

Our Freedom - Flamsteed Day Care Session

We were able to work with the lovely folk from Flamsteed Day Care again.

We talked about what it was like to live in post war Ilkeston and many remembered the prefab bungalows.

We created paper collage houses using magazines and we wrote down inside all about their memories of the prefabs.  

Cardboard Model Village of Erewash

Our March and April project for Erewash Museum was creating cardboard models of the buildings in Ilkeston and Long Eaton. We worked with Long Eaton Self Help Group and Flamsteed Day Care to create our favourite buildings and then delivered 2 drop in sessions for families to make more. The work will be exhibited in the museum. 

Arts Desire Exhibition - Ilkeston Hospital

We have recently installed an art exhibition of work at Ilkeston Hospital of our Arts Desire Project. We created this artwork with members of Flamsteed Dementia Day Centre and the Creative Arts Project in Ilkeston. You can see we had a lot of fun in the sessions.

Arts Desire

Our Arts Desire project in Ilkeston has been going wonderfully well with the lovely folk at Flamsteed Day Centre. Paper mache is the artform and we have made bowls, little trinket boxes, fishes and egg box animals.
