Spring Wreaths - SEWA Group - Derby City Dementia Group

We worked with the SEWA group for the Derby City Dementia  in March. We created spring wreaths using coloured cardboard boxes wire and posca pens. We had a nice afternoon making some lovely artwork for the group to take home. 

Little Books @ Dovedale Hospital with Derby City Dementia Group

We had a lovely morning working with the Dementia group at Dovedale Hospital.

They created some fabulous little books painted with watercolour patterns. There was a lot of laughing and chatting and by the end of the morning they had all managed to fold their decorated paper into a little book. They were all amazed. 

It was a delight to work with them, a very jolly group. 

Our Freedom - Flamsteed Day Care Session

We were able to work with the lovely folk from Flamsteed Day Care again.

We talked about what it was like to live in post war Ilkeston and many remembered the prefab bungalows.

We created paper collage houses using magazines and we wrote down inside all about their memories of the prefabs.  

Arts Desire

Our Arts Desire project in Ilkeston has been going wonderfully well with the lovely folk at Flamsteed Day Centre. Paper mache is the artform and we have made bowls, little trinket boxes, fishes and egg box animals.

Flamsteed Day Centre Exhibition

We held an exhibition at Flamsteed Day Centre in Ilkeston on 12 March. We had worked with this wonderful group of older people on batik, collage, applique and paper mache birds over the last few months. We always enjoy working and chatting with this group, its a very happy place to be. The project was funded by Erewash Borough Council Small Arts Grant.

We have been working with the lovely folk at Flamsteed, in Ilkeston, many of whom have dementia. Its been busy as the group is quite large now, but we have had lots of fun.

Bunting making for 180th Anniversary

We held bunting making workshops for our 180th anniversary launch with different groups, ESOL Derby College, Sahaly and Sewa Dementia.

Making Space - Batik Painting

We created batik designs with the making space group. They enjoyed working on their patterns which we used to create some textile mats in the following session.
