Rosehill School - Gruffalo
Just before Christmas, Rosehill School came and spent 4 days with us at Grove Lodge creating paper mache sculptures for their Gruffalo project.
We all had a busy time creating fir trees and decorations as well as some life-size characters from the story.
Well done and thank you to artists, Claire and Kate, who joined us to deliver the workshops.
We hope to get some photos on the blog soon.

There is a Gruffalo in the school...
We had a great two weeks creating characters from the Gruffalo story with St James Infants.
Here is the marvellous Gruffalo and the other animals in the forest.
Thank you to all the wonderful children and teaching staff at the school.

Is there a Gruffalo in the Arboretum?
We have walked around the Arboretum Park to collect leaves, look at the interesting trees and take tree bark rubbings.
We also looked out for the creatures in the Gruffalo story, but we only saw lots and lots of squirrels.
Here are a few photos of our leaf printing for a background display.

"Big Draw" in the Orangery
We were invited by Diane from Artblock to take part in a Big Draw event in the Arboretum. We worked in the old Orangery which was a very beautiful space. We made windsocks, recycled notebooks and peep boxes. If you have never been to the Arboretum in Derby check it out, it is a wonderful space and there is a cafe too!
