Gardening at Holbrook Centre

We had a great time visiting the Gardening Fayre at Holbrook Centre for Autism in October.

We visited the woodland walk and the pumpkin stall, which one is Jenny and which one is Maureen??

Is there a Gruffalo in the Arboretum?

We have walked around the Arboretum Park to collect leaves, look at the interesting trees and take tree bark rubbings.
We also looked out for the creatures in the Gruffalo story, but we only saw lots and lots of squirrels.

World Mental Health Day

World Mental Health Day took place at Derby University on 10 October.

It was a very busy event with a variety of activities and information. 

We ran a batik painting workshop and we were delighted at the number of people who came along to participate and chat to us about our work.

Green Men in the Redhills

Green Men Making

We spent 3 days working with the children at Redhill Primary School, Ockbrook, Derbyshire.
They were creating a Woodland Forest in their school and needed some Green Creatures to peep out from the foliage.

We created a large Green Man figure with the junior classes and worked with Year 5 to create little creatures.

We had a fun time making woodland fairies and squirrels in the Orangery in the park. Here are some of the fairy creatures.

Green Mask for Green Flag Day

Congratulations to the Arboretum Park for being awarded the Green Flag Award, which is for parks that are a welcoming space, clean and safe and managed well.

To celebrate we created Green Man Masks at our family workshop in the Orangery.

Buzzy Bees in the Park

At our family activity in the Orangery in the Arboretum Park we created some great buzzy bees.
