Spill The Tea - Sexual Health Project

We were delighted to start our Spill the Tea project with 2 different groups, Women's Work and Young Carers.

We have worked on batik painting and air-drying clay affirmations whilst chatting and looking at resources available through the Derbyshire Community Health Services to promote good sexual health and wellbeing among young people.

Young Carers session - Loudon Lodge May 2025

We made purses with denim offcuts, gaffer tape and bondawebbed fabric. They were fun to do, especially being in Loudon Lodge looking out at the community garden in the Arboretum in the sunshine. 😎

Artis-Tree - Textile Trees

Over the last few months we have been busy working on our Artis-Tree project working with 4 different groups to create 4 fabulous textile trees. They will be exhibited in the Orangery in Derby Arboretum in January. The groups who created the artwork were the Young Carers, SEWA Dementia, Upbeat Communities and young people from Derby College.

We used textile techniques such as Japanese Shibori Tie-dye, wrapping branches and block printing leaves.

The project was funded by Living Well Derby City.

Here are some of the images taken in the workshop sessions.
