Derby Arboretum Well Dressings 2026

A wonderfully sunny well dressing afternoon in the Derby Arboretum to celebrate Derby's Folk Traditions. Dancing from Chip Off The Old Morris Dancing Team and music from Helen Hitchcock violinist.

Derby Arboretum Friends Group supported with homemade cakes and refreshments and Councillor Cecile Wright opening the event.

Kindly funded by Derby City Council Small Arts Grant and Central Co-op Food.

Encouragement Banners - International Women's Day 2021

It was great to work with so many women and girls to create these fabulous banners for the Artivism Trail around Derby Arboretum for International Women's Day 2021.

Funded by Midlands Cooperative and Derby City Council.

Derby Well Dressing Trail 2019

At the end of June, we spent a whole week working at Derby Cathedral and Quad with schools, with the Roma Youth Group and with adults at drop-in sessions to create 5 stunning well dressings.
These were exhibited at Derby Quad, Derby Cathedral, Derby Information Centre, The Sanctuary Cafe and at Deda.
The project was funded by Derby City Council Small Arts Grant. The theme of the well dressings was - 'Cherish your Planet'

A Wonderful Spring Celebration in the Arboretum Park

A wonderful day was spent last Sunday celebrating the spring sunshine and having fun on the park.
Pancake races, egg decorating, drumming, owl display, ice-creams, relaxing in the park, daffodils and crocuses.Well done to everyone involved who worked with us for a fabulous day, the Friends of the Park, the Rotary Club, the Community Cafe, and the Council Parks Dept.

175th Anniversary of Derby Arboretum Park

Wow, what a great day we had in the Derby Arboretum Park. Best bits were the amazing procession, the wonderful performances on the main stage, the array of organisation stalls and the community spirit.
Thank you to the Multifaith Centre, Derby City Council Parks, Sustrans, Arboretum Cafe for their support and to the People's Health Trust - Healthcalm for their financial support.
